Every night right before bath time at the Marler house it is cricket catching time! This might be the only family activity that I do not care to be included in, except as the photographer. My kids are seriously so obsessed with catching bugs and especially crickets and Brian loves it too. He said the other day that crickets aren't as fast as they use to be, and I thought....um, probably because the last time that you were catching them you were a little kid too and they seemed hard to catch. He was impressed that he caught like 6 within thirty seconds. What a STUD! He catches them and then hands them to the kids, who usually end up bringing them into the house to me with their fist clinched tight and where I end up saying, "GET THOSE THINGS OUTTA HERE!"

I think we might have to make bug catchers for next weeks family night so that they won't have to use the wipe containers to keep the bugs trapt in.
We also have a lot of lizards that are always climbing on the walls in our backyard and the kids love when Brian catches them. Bryce was so excited to hold the lizard that he squeezed so tight that I thought he killed the poor thing.

Marler Pest Control!

I'm with you. I'd be grossed out and stay inside too!

I swear it is not my fault. He liked bugs and lizards all on his own, I still hate them to this day. Here's a story on Brian, when he was 2 he was just screaming in the back yard, I ran outside and there he was, standing there screaming with a 1 1/2 foot allagator lizard biting his finger. The harder he shook it the harder it bit and hung on to his little finger. It was all I could do to hold his arm still so the lizard could drop off and run away....Tiff, look what you have to look forward to!!

I loved catching bugs when I was little. We had lightening bugs - those were the best!!!
I meant to give you my link to my blog the other night at bunco, since I didn't - I thought I leave a comment.
